Hearing aids are powered by zinc-air batteries in button cell format or rechargeable batteries. Unlike the latter, the zinc-air batteries are not rechargeable, but they have the advantage of a significantly longer operating time. On average, they need to be changed every 10 days - depending on whether the device is in use every day and which power level it is operated on.

Hearing aid batteries have different sizes and power levels: The most common types are 13, usually marked orange, and 312 (brown), 10 (yellow) and 675 (blue). Type 675 has the highest power and the largest dimension, type 10 is the smallest and has the lowest capacity. In-the-ear devices mostly need types 10 and 312, behind-the-ear devices 13 and also 312.

Hearing aids may be further adapted to your individual needs by using accessories. In addition to accessories for care and storage, there are, for example, FM systems for transmitting speech from greater distances. In addition, accessories make it possible to connect a TV, radio, computer or smartphone to your hearing aid via Bluetooth and thus enjoy even better hearing when using multimedia.

The information provided with your hearing aid informs you which accessories are available from the manufacturer - or you ask your hearing care professional. We then demonstrate the functioning of the accessories to you.

Hearing aids consist of many different components, e.g. shields, tubes and filters. When they are worn out, it is necessary to replace the respective components. Only then the proper operation of a device is still assured. We offer spare parts for hearing aids of all usual manufacturers and install them on request.

Daily use causes all kinds of dirt which accumulates on and in hearing aids - especially dust, sweat and earwax. Residue from creams, make-up and hairspray may also build up. These deposits clog and gum up the devices. Since the electronics are very sensitive, special care products should be used. Regular cleaning prolongs the life of the devices and keeps them in perfect working order.
